Band members Miyamori Ryo and Miyamori Yoh are brothers with Yoh being the older brother.
The band was originally formed when Naoto and Kazuhito were in middle school.
The band was originally meant to be nothing more than a cover band.
Member Ryou often jokes about being seen as the oldest member of the band when he is infact the youngest member.
Kazuhito was the first and currently only band member to leave.
He was also one of the founding members of the band.
The group often faces plagiarism accusations both on the internet and in Japanese media, although the former rarely occurs anymore.
The band name of ORANGE RANGE was thought up by Naoto’s mother who thought that if they had a color in their name, the band would be easily remembered.
To pick the official leader of the band, the group held a three round “rock, paper, scissors” game. The loser would become the leader, Naoto lost all three rounds and was given the title of leader.
Kirikirimai was remixed for the 2005 movie, The Fantastic Four and featured in the movie’s original soundtrack. The inclusion of Orange Range’s single is unusual considering low coverage of Japanese music in American movies such as The Fantastic Four coupled with the low sales of Kirikirimai in Japan.
Hana was written by, both, Yamato and Ryo.
Ryo dedicated a certain part of their song, “Kizuna”, to Katchan after he left.
Orange Range is taking part on soundtrack album “The Songs for DEATH NOTE the Movie ~the last name TRIBUTE~” by song Chest.
